I am not sure he was too pleased to see me, did not even look at me, thankfully there was a big fence between us. These Highland cattle are now very popular and it is great to see so many in different locations. I withdrew quietly and carried on my journey.

Do you need anybody,
I need somebody to love.
Could it be anybody
I want somebody to love.
Would you believe in a love at first sight,
Yes I'm certain that it happens all the time.
What do you see when you turn out the light,
I can't tell you, but I know it's mine.
Oh I get by with a little help from my friends,
Do you need anybody,
I just need somebody to love,
Could it be anybody,
I want somebody to love.
I get by with a little help from my friends,
Yes I get by with a little help from my friends,
With a little help from my friends.

If you don't know...I frackin' love The Beatles. =)
Also, all these little guys live in my dorm room with me...and, honestly, there are like...20 more...but these are the ones I photographed.
Check my stream later to see another one in his own shoot. ;)
Did some new things on the self-portrait. Let me know what you think!
I can't really remember why I don't smile in selfies...hmmm...I will work on that. =P

This big fellow has obviously found some mud to roll in, a rare treat in mid-winter on the Saskatchewan prairie! The caked-on mud will further insulate him from the next onslaught of foul weather. Note that his tail is hanging straight down. I took this cue from him and his five herd-mates - a sort of bachelor club of bull bison that have been hanging out together all winter - that all was calm and it was okay to be there. A raised tail means an agitated animal, which translates as "get out of here now!"

All my life I wanted a dog that looked like a Muppet. You know, the kind of dog with shaggy hair, long legs, and a big nose. With a bubbly, fun loving personalty to match. Well, that's what Finnegan is; and more...

Sort of reminded me of the wonderfully bad film 'Shaggy Dog' starring the gloriouss Tim Allen. Sadly however, this dog was not Tim Allen in Canine form.

Ah, the simple pleasure of a roll in the dirt! Most of the snow has melted, very unusual for January. I approached a small group on foot; I was closer to them than to my car. Bison are unpredictable and dangerous, so don't try this unless you have a long telephoto and considerable experience with wildlife.
