Trying out some stop motion time lapse photography with the shaving of my beard. 200+ images in 40 seconds. Let it load before playing it. Need I say it was done in one take so forgive me some little errors. It's fairly easy to achieve results like this.
You need to following items;
- A beard, fairly important unless you're shaving your head instead.
- Bathroom with space for some lighting
- Lighting. I used 2 softboxes. But, flashes would be just as good.
- A tripod. I used a Manfroto but any sturdy tripod is fine.
- The camera of any kind. Preferably digital otherwise you're going to be doing a lot of scanning.
- A standard lens. I used a Nikon 28mm.
- Adobe Lightroom or iMovie. To sequence and select the images. Desaturate them and export them as a 'slideshow'.

As daft as it sounds I was planning on taking a photo of my dodgy beard today.
The plan was to take multiple shots; before, during, and after shaving, and then make a collage.
I had the tripod setup, tested the lighting, everything was perfect. Then I realised I was out of shaving gel.
This was one of the shots I took whilst setting up and testing. I liked it in high key post process so I went with it.

watched a dvd about climbing at college this morning, it had a huge yawnfactor. at about eleven we packed up, got on the mini bus and drove over to st Ives and did a bit of bouldering on one of the crags there. there were some pretty decent routes up there actually. my hands are ripped to shreds now though. i picked up a new back pack after college today and now im just bumming around till skins starts on e4. i took this in my room a little while ago. i lacked inspiration today hence the fairly stupid photo.
